Welsh Caterer Adds Local Flavour to the Wales the True Taste Food & Drink Awards 2009/10

The menu at next month’s Wales the True Taste Food & Drink Awards will have a definite local flavour putting Abergavenny and Monmouthshire at the heart of the annual celebration of innovation and excellence in the Welsh food and drink industry. This year’s award ceremony will be held at Abergavenny’s historic Market Hall on November 19th, where the 450 guests will dine on delicious dishes, most of which will be created from locally sourced produce.

Welsh Curries Delight Asda's Delis

Supermarket deli counter customers can now take-away curry with a Welsh twist following a deal between South Wales ready-meal producer, The Authentic Curry Company and ASDA. Four curries from the award-winning producer - Welsh Black Beef Curry, Tan y Ddraig (Dragon’s Fire), Sws y Ddraig (Dragon’s Kiss) and Chicken Tikka Massala - are now available on ASDA deli counters across Wales.

Food and drink companies are under starters orders for the most eagerly awaited event in the Welsh culinary calendar, the Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards 2009/10. Next month sees the climax of this year’s competition - regarded as the 'Oscars' of the Welsh food industry, which since its inception in 2002 has seen food and drink producers from across Wales honoured for their excellence and innovation.

Welsh food and drink producers will be heading to London to show their wares to the UK’s restaurant trade in a bid to secure more business. Welsh producers will attend The Restaurant Show at London's Earl’s Court 2 from 12-14 October 2009, attracts over 350 suppliers of food, drink, interiors and tableware.
